Starting January 2027Practicum Placement Opportunity
PLEASE READ THESE REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY. IF ALL ELEMENTS ARE NOT COMPLETED, I WILL NOT REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION.I am considering inviting practicum students starting January 2027. Please read the requirements and offering below to determine if this opportunity is a good fit for you:
❋ What I'm offering: ApproachA practicum placement with me is an opportunity to expand your skills and experience as a Relationally Oriented Psychotherapist. (see FAQ) You may or may not have had an opportunity to explore this approach and theory in your academic work but in this practicum, the expectation is you intend to expand your theoretical and practice inclinations in this direction. I have many years of experience practicing and teaching in this approach. Please indicate your knowledge of this area of practice in your application.
❋ What I'm offering: Client Acquisition I am a sole practitioner and I have some limited capacity to attract and refer clients to you during your practicum. We will work collaboratively together to acquire client referrals. I expect that you will be committed to this effort with me and with my ongoing support and guidance. In return, you will be able to keep your client base once you have completed the practicum to take with you into private practice or to whatever practice environment you migrate to next. I am not offering associateships after practicum. Please indicate in your application you understand there is an expectation you assist in efforts to obtain clients and that this practicum will seed your future private practice
❋ What I'm offering: Real Supervision SupportMy practicum placements are offered for the love of teaching and mentoring student therapists who are interested in growing into solid Relationally Oriented Psychotherapists. You will have access to my years of experience and expertise and my facility with relational psychodynamic theory (along with modern neurobiology, mindfulness, parts work and much more). I am passionate about teaching you how to do this work and skill sets I offer are likely quite different than those of your degree program. I offer formal supervision hours, group supervision and other availability as needed. You will feel fully supported but also encouraged to grow and manage on your own. Please read about me and my approach on this site and indicate why you want to learn how to do this work with me specifically.
❋ What you are offering: Curiosity, Openness and a Desire to Learn from MeIn your application, please indicate specifically that you have read this page and my FAQ page. Please describe your interest in Relational Psychotherapy and why you want to learn this from me. I can offer you a lot in your training but if you send me a generic email about your willingness to work hard and do CBT and Narrative therapy, I will know you have ignored all of this and I will not respond to you. By the time you read this paragraph, you will know whether I could be an appropriate practicum placement supervisor for you. I’ll look forward to your application.
Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
